Lucie Berquière, a visual artist working mainly with photography, divides her time between the South of France and Estonia. Her work, a cross between documentary and fiction, is characterised by a dreamlike, cinematic aesthetic.
Her work takes the form of photographic series, soundtracked exhibitions and installations. Her multidisciplinary career influences her productions and approach. Initially an actress, voiceover artist and drama teacher, she also developed a passion for the art of clowning and decided to spend a year at a circus school in Estonia in 2017-2018. She is also interested in movement and non-formal education, and has been involved in various European projects on embodied learning. In 2019 she has decided to focus on visual arts only. In 2021, her work was nominated for the Occitanie Youth Photography Prize by Images Singulières. The following year, she had her first solo exhibition (Küsimus, espace Saint Ravy, Montpellier, France, 2022).
